Ness also has a great deal of experience attacking with, and defending from, physical attacks. Ness has tanked missles, atomic blasts, disintegration rays, getting run over, and being talked at by sentient vomit, and survived all of it. However, Chara's murderous intent, not her actual physical strength, is where her massive damage numbers come from when she attacks monsters, because monsters are highly weak to murderous intent. Ness' bat, which he has used to defeat grown men, hostile cars, giant bears, atomic robots, and giant monsters, targets the physical body the same way Chara's knife does. Chara can withstand a lot of this magic because her soul is callous and uncaring.
